Authorities trying to locate suspects in a Bronx armed robbery

On Behalf of | Jun 27, 2014 | Violent Crimes |

Criminal allegations can seriously affect the personal and professional life of the accused. This is especially true when it involves a violent crime. The suspect could endure hardship even before the charges are finalized. Crafting a strong defense strategy against the allegations could not only lessen the affects the charges have on a defendant’s life, but could also reduce or some or all of the charges against, possibly avoiding conviction.

Following an armed robbery of a Bronx laundromat earlier this month, authorities are still trying to locate the two suspects who supposedly committed the crime. According to reports, one of the suspects was armed with a gun when the two men held up the clerk of the laundromat at around 7:00 p.m. and took off with the daily earnings of the establishment. Surveillance video and descriptions of the two men have been released in hopes of locating them.

Once the two men are located, they could face serious penalties for the crime they are accused of committing. Because the incident is considered a violent crime, the two suspects could face various charges. Establishing a defense against the pending charges could prove difficult. Further investigation could uncover evidence that could be used to reduce or drop the charges against the suspects. Moreover, if errors are made in any search or seizure that occurs in the process, evidence could become inadmissible.

When an individual is accused of committing a serious or violent crime, the reality is that they could face harsh punishments if they are convicted. They could face fines and even a lengthy prison sentence. In order to reduce or prevent these outcomes, a defendant should learn about their options. This could help them develop a defense strategy that will serve their interests and rights.
